And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

And when se saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And behold, thou shalt conceive in they womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of this kingdeom there shall be no end.

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshado thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God....

..... For with God nothing shall be impossible.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

- Luke 1:28 - 35, 37-38

The Shepherd's Carol

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear nt: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger......

..... And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. - Luke 2:8 - 16

Fariest little Jesus child
Came to earth so meek and mild,
Came to earth to show the way.
Praise we sing on Christmas Day!

Fairest little Jesus child,
From the heavens angels smiled.
We a gift before thee lay.
Praise we sing on Christmas Day!

December Theme: Putting "Christ" back into "Christ"mas...

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are Christians. As such, we look forward to this time of year when we celebrate the time of his birth. We understand the importance of Christ's mission and therefore understand how important his birth is in the history of mankind. Which is why I, as a member of the Church, find it so distrubing that so many people are not taking the time to remember the REAL reason why this holiday was invented. Our society has become too concentrated on the commercialism that is usually associated with Christmas that we don't take the time to reflect about the very person whose birth we remember at this time of year......

This month, the following posts will be dedicated to remembering our Savior and Redeemer, who, if he had not come into the world, all mankind would have been lost.

Somebody once said to me:

If there had been no birth, there would have been no Atonement.
If there had been no Atonement, Death would claim its victory and the grave would have its sting.
What could have been eternal would perish in the grave.
The whole purpose for the creation of the earth and our living upon it would fail.
But there is a Christ and there was an Atonement made.
May we praise his holy name this Christmas season.
And may we give our will to him who redeemed us.

I leave this with you all in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
