December Theme: Putting "Christ" back into "Christ"mas...

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are Christians. As such, we look forward to this time of year when we celebrate the time of his birth. We understand the importance of Christ's mission and therefore understand how important his birth is in the history of mankind. Which is why I, as a member of the Church, find it so distrubing that so many people are not taking the time to remember the REAL reason why this holiday was invented. Our society has become too concentrated on the commercialism that is usually associated with Christmas that we don't take the time to reflect about the very person whose birth we remember at this time of year......

This month, the following posts will be dedicated to remembering our Savior and Redeemer, who, if he had not come into the world, all mankind would have been lost.

Somebody once said to me:

If there had been no birth, there would have been no Atonement.
If there had been no Atonement, Death would claim its victory and the grave would have its sting.
What could have been eternal would perish in the grave.
The whole purpose for the creation of the earth and our living upon it would fail.
But there is a Christ and there was an Atonement made.
May we praise his holy name this Christmas season.
And may we give our will to him who redeemed us.

I leave this with you all in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
