The atonement of Jesus Christ includes his suffering in Gethsemane, in which he took upon himself our sins, and later dying on the cross./Zum Suehnopfer Jesu Christi gehoeren sein Leiden im Gethsemane, wo er unsere Suenden auf sich nahm, und sein Tod am Kreuz.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou willt....
